PROPER SURFACE PREP
In order for your ceramic coating to properly bond to the finish, we must remove the oils and lubricants from the previous detailing stage. To do this, we need a proper mixture of chemicals to dissolve those oils and lubricants and lift them from the surface. This will give us the most durability possible out of the coating and make installation efficient.
BETTER THAN IPA
While some IPA mixtures are used for this purpose, they may not be enough to fully break down the oils and lubricants of a previous detailing step. The IPA mixture will also not have the lubrication required to keep you from marring the freshly polished paint while wiping. Q2M Prep ceramic coating prep spray is the best tool for the job.
PRO TIP
The microfiber towel used in the Prep process is just as important as using the proper product. You want new and highly absorbent towels to absorb the dissolved oils and lift them from the paints surface. If the towels are old and aren’t absorbing, you’ll end up pushing the oils around the paint and not effectively removing them. Change towels often and use plenty of Prep on the surface.
